On 24 September, 2024, Seafood Legacy became a memeber of the Hong Kong Sustainable Seafood Coalition (HKSSC), a coalition of industry that aims to advance the sustainable seafood market in Hong Kong and Macau.
Hong Kong and Macau are significant export destinations for Japan and play a crucial role in advancing the sustainability of the seafood industry. Seafood Legacy commits to establishing access routes for a number of Japanese small and medium-sized fishers and aquaculture producers who are committed to sustainable practice, and by joining the HKSSC, we expect that this partnership can enhance this promotion activity.
For HKSSC, the collaboration offers an opportunity to leverage Seafood Legacy's experiences in Japan, and increase the chances of responsible sourcing.
Together, we aim to improve seafood sustainability and responsibility of the seafood market in Japan and Asia.
